Security

Remember, when downloading any file from the web, there is the risk of downloading viruses or other malicious content. JALT has not scanned or checked the content of the files in the handout center; as such you download them at your own risk. We strongly recommend you check any files you download with virus software BEFORE opening them.

Access

To download presentation handouts, please go to the online handout center. Use the following username and password to log in:

Username: download
Password: jalt2007

The presentation handouts are organized in directories based on the day of the presentation. They should be named in the format

presenter's name-day-room.filetype

So for example brown-24-417.doc means it's Brown's handout for his session in room 417 on the 24th.

Download

Individual Handouts

To download a single document:

  • Select the document by clicking on its name
  • Then click on the top "Download File" link (in the top menu section).
  • The handout will be automatically saved to the default download directory on your computer's hard-drive.
  • Remember to run a virus scan on the document before you open it!

Multiple Handouts

To download multiple documents at once, use the "add to cart" option:

  • Select the document by clicking on its name, and then click on the "add to cart" link on the right of the filename. The file will automatically be added to the download cart.
  • When you have selected all the document you wish to download, access the download cart by clicking its name in the left menu
  • If you wish to remove documents from the cart, click on the "x" button to the right of the file's name
  • When ready to save the handouts to your computer, click on the "Download" button.
  • The handouts will be automatically saved to the default download directory on your computer's hard-drive as a ZIP compressed document you can open with an unzipping utility like Stuffit or WinZIP.
  • Be sure to run a virus check on the documents before you open them.
