The Japan Association for Language Teaching
JALT is a professional organization dedicated to the improvement of language learning and teaching in Japan: a vehicle for the exchange of ideas and techniques, and a means of keeping abreast of new developments in a rapidly changing field. JALT, formed in 1976, is the Japan affiliate of International TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) and a partner of IATEFL (International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language).
2007 Conference Schedule Outline
Thursday is a preparation day. There will be pre-conference workshops aimed at helping teachers develop their professional skills in the afternoon and a reception for early registrants in the evening. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will have a wide range of presentations, workshops, and symposia while the final afternoon (Sunday) will be devoted to workshops sponsored by JALT's Associate Members. Here is an outline of the schedule (subject to change without notice):

All Chapter and SIG programme chairs and interested JALT members are invited to join in planning the conference together, especially if you are based the Tokyo area.
