Job Information Center
The main objective of the Job Information Center (JIC) is to bring employers and potential job applicants together.
- For employers, JIC provides the facilities to post jobs, review resumes, and interview applicants onsite. It is an exceptionally efficient method of finding teachers for whatever the employment need.
- For applicants, JIC offers job listings from all over Japan, a chance to network with other teachers and learn about the job market, and various workshops on job opportunities and Professional Development (PD).
The staff at JIC have many years of experience between them, and so can offer valuable insights into the job market and how to get the job you're looking for.
Job search – live!
At the JIC desk, you are welcome to drop off your resume and info to help recruiters find you. Next, screening and interview times can be set up. We often do not know in advance who may come with intent to interview, so be sure to check back in regularly for updates. Informal meetings are bound to happen as well, so don’t forget your cell phone! All recruiters who have come to past JALT conferences have emphasized the usefulness of JIC, and the majority have hired teachers found through JIC.
Courier service
Some employers post job openings but do not have recruiters present at the conference, or cannot attend all weekend. These employers can ask JIC to forward resumes from interested job seekers. Through its courier service, JIC undertakes to send collected resumes to you, the employer.
